Why they suck

Flight cancelled, then no one on the ground to tell passengers what to do or how to book a new flight. Since my flight was the last of the day, I had to arrange my own hotel and re-book without any assistance from NW personnel.

My suggestions to northwest air

Try a bit of common sense and customer support. Maybe a bit of employee training
