Why they suck

We booked a flight from DC to Portugal with Orbitz. On the return flight, the connecting flight in London was cancelled by Virgin Atlantic, and no one thought to tell us about it. Now, Orbitz is blaming Virgin and Virgin is blaming Orbitz. Orbitz has offered us a $75 voucher on future travel with them. I will never book with Orbitz again, their service and communication with customers is the worst I've ever dealt with.

My suggestions to orbitz

Keep us reliably informed about flight status (instead of sending texts that everything was fine even though the flight had been cancelled). Take ownership of the problem afterwards and not pass the buck to the airline, and offer compensation. None of which they did.
