Why they suck

Want straight hair one day, and curly the next? With the Revlon RV057C Perfect Heat Professional 2-in-1 Straightener & Curling Iron you can have neither. All you get with this piece of crap is very split and burnt hair that is not remotely curly or straight, not to mention some very burnt fingers. Hair tends to get caught in the plastic of the device only causing painful breakage. The straightener doesn’t close together well, and you end up having to hold it together, which leaves crimps in your hair. The metal extension on the curling iron tends to get caught up in your hair, leaving weird bends and creases, and it is very difficult to actually get a good curl. The lock that holds the iron together breaks easily, and is a pain to connect in the first place. When plugged in it is also difficult to set the product on a counter, it is not well balanced and falls off easily. Not a good feature for a very hot device.

My suggestions to Revlon 2in1 Straightener and Curling Iron

This is a very poorly designed product. Revlon, you need some serious work. While 2-in-1 seems like a good idea, in practice I just don’t think it's working.

My solutions / alternatives to fellow ranters

Buy a different product. I think in the long run it better to just have a separate curling iron and straightener. I love my Farouk CHI 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Hairstyling Iron. While not cheap, it is the best straightener I’ve used, and the rounded edges actually allow me to curl my hair with a flat iron.
